Aura Angels are experts in funeral arranging, celebration-of-life planning and supporting families through difficult times. They’ll be there for you and your loved ones.
Before joining Aura in March 2022, Kim worked at a woodland burial ground and gained her Celebrancy Diploma from the UK Society of Celebrants in 2015.
Kim says:
“The thing I love most about being an Aura Angel is supporting people during emotionally challenging and turbulent times. It sounds simple but I’ve learned that everyone, even members of the same family who are grieving the same person, need different levels and means of support. Identifying which kind of support they need and providing that help is immensely rewarding.”
How does Kim imagine her funeral?
“A combination of all the things I love – nature; music, literature, great clothes and champagne.”
Before joining Aura in 2023, Tamsin spent 17 years working in the charity sector, frequently supporting bereaved families in finding meaningful ways to remember their loved ones.
Tamsin says:
“My dad died after a short illness, and had never talked about what he wanted for his funeral. Not knowing his wishes added to what was already a stressful time and has had a long lasting impact on my mum. If I could achieve one thing it would be to help more people to talk about death and prepare for it.”
What inspirational ideas has Tamsin found from the families she’s supported?
“Giving out blank addressed postcards for people to take away, and when a memory of the person who had died comes to mind, write in on the postcard and send to the family.”
Lucy joined the Aura Angel team in February 2023, and has worked in funeral care since finishing a master’s in end-of-life policy.
Lucy says:
“I know how hard the weeks and months after a death can be, and it’s a real privilege to be able to walk alongside individuals and families during that time. I came into funeral care because I wanted to help make those hard times a bit more manageable and I really hope that having someone at the end of the phone that truly cares makes the worst of times a little less difficult.”
What is Lucy’s advice for those grieving?
“Be kind to yourself and only do what you can do. Sometimes you can do everything and sometimes you just can’t, and that’s okay.“
Tracy joined us in May of 2024, building on her existing funeral experience of seven years at a natural burial ground.
Tracy says:
“Aura allows me to be there for people at one of the most important and difficult times that we all have to face. Being there for families as they carry out the final acts for their loved ones is something that motivates me to be at my best.”
How does Tracy advise supporting someone through grief?
“Be there when they need you, and be there when they don’t. Sometimes it’s the little things you do that make the biggest difference.“
