About Paul

Experience

Paul Jameson is the founder of Aura Funerals, one of the UK’s highest-rated direct cremation and prepaid funeral plan providers.

Diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) – a terminal diagnosis– in 2017 and given just six months to live, Paul has defied the odds to become a passionate advocate for better end-of-life planning, and a nationally recognised fundraiser and inspiration. His personal experience has helped shape Aura’s mission to provide honest, affordable funeral plans that offer true peace of mind to families.

Paul’s professional background includes a successful career in business development and brand building. Drawing on his own journey with a life-limiting illness, he founded Aura to give people a more compassionate and transparent alternative to the traditional funeral industry — one rooted in empathy, fairness and family values.

Over the last eight years, Paul has climbed Kilimanjaro, Mont Blanc, sung an opera on the stage of the Royal Opera House and skydived in pursuit of his ever-growing fundraising bucket list. His efforts have raised thousands for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and earned him national media recognition.

Paul is a public advocate for dignity in later life and has shared his voice by writing and publishing his own book, Very Much Alive, in 2024. He remains actively involved in Aura’s strategic vision and has played a key role in shaping its customer-first philosophy and gold-standard customer care framework.

In September 2025, Paul will make four Guinness World Record attempts eight years after his six-month prognosis, including the greatest distance for a two-person vehicle pulled by dogs in one minute.

He lives with his wife in Surrey, where he continues to defy expectations and inspire others with his belief that, even with MND, there is always hope, and always something worth living for.
