A Direct Cremation is a kind of funeral that provides people with a less formal, more personal alternative to a traditional funeral. If your loved one wouldn't have been comfortable with pallbearers and a funeral procession, then you don't have to have these elements at the ceremony at all -- instead, there is more room for who they were in the ceremony. It's an increasingly popular kind of funeral in the UK, and we could easily arrange one for you in Edinburgh: We would escort your loved one from where they are resting to the crematorium in order to have the ceremony. Afterwards, we can either scatter their ashes for you at the crematorium's garden of solace, or we could deliver them personally to you by hand -- whatever you think would be best. It gives a brief and dignified way of saying goodbye to your loved one, just as they would have wanted.
We understand the financial impact that needing to suddenly plan a funeral can have on a family, even at the best of times. We hope it makes things just a little more bearable to know that this kind of ceremony is usually significantly cheaper to organise than other kinds, and that, on average, the average cost of a British funeral could be more than twice that of an Aura funeral. We'd be very glad to provide you with a direct quote once we have had the chance to speak directly about what you would like to organise, but for now, we can say that we could organise a ceremony like this in Edinburgh from £1,095.
Of course we can -- that is what Aura is all about. This kind of ceremony is perfect for allowing your loved one's character and personality to shine through, and we'd be honoured to help you make this day as special and true to them as possible. If you know you'd like to personalise things, but aren't sure of how, we can make some recommendations: Some people like to select the music that plays as their loved one arrives at the crematorium, making sure that it is something dear to them. Others like to make sure that their loved one's coffin is designed in a way that suits their tastes.
Much like the matter of cost, the specialness of each funeral can influence how long it takes for it to be organised. We assure you that we will always work as hard as we can to deliver things quickly without hampering the quality of our service, and we will update you regularly as we work. To give you a guideline, we could organise one of our more bespoke funerals for you in Edinburgh within a two-week period, but others will require longer. If you can give us a call, we can talk together about what you're looking for, and then we can advise more specifically on how long things could take.
Anxieties that arise from needing to suddenly plan an unexpected funeral are something that we see very often in our line of work, but we want you to know that we are here to listen to you. We have a dedicated team of specialists called the Angels who are on hand to hear what you have to say, and to get all of the information they need in order to plan everything down to the last detail. We ultimately want you to be free to be in the moment with friends and family, rather than worrying about admin, whether you are in Edinburgh or anywhere else.
